Zaid oh Zaid
Posted by: maam123

Zaid pointed out recently that the Malay supremacy concept had failed and distracted from the real issues confronting the country.

Yesterday, he said he hoped Malays could differentiate between leaders who thought of their interests from those who only used the name of the Malays for political mileage.

Zaid said the concept of Malay supremacy had a negative element.

To Zaid,

Since that you delivered your speech in a law conference, your speech has been intpreted from the law viewpoint too. that is where you have been wrong, because the  malay supremacy according to your speech can mean the country's Constitution. the constitution, however should not be read from the viewpoint of the law. the constitutions were made after many meetings involving many parties too. collective bargaining if we can call it, then we agreed on those top most policies. so all parties agreed to it and  the argument of justice that you have tried to champion does not arise. it is beyond the question of justice!!! Malay supremacy has no category within; success or failure. Malay supremacy is a nominal phenomena. take say blue or red colour. it has no category such as 1 or 2. so malay supremacy or the nation's constitution, whether you like it or not, you have to take it. it is not like those lawyers that win or lost in court cases.(no matter BN or not BN rule this country, malay supremacy is here to stay forever)

In reality however, many government top posts are shared by all races, and no body has to make remarks like you did, belittle your own race. but who is zaid anyway? he is no body. if zaid is a mat salleh say an american, zaid may act differently. because american has been brought up to worship  white supremacy, although american will never admit this during their election campaign (they 're from the same relegion, but after 100s of years, mix marriges is still regarded as a taboo). means no politician will ever dare to belittle white supremacy.(I bet obama can never win)

similarly to China. In China, no chinese citizens will come out in great number to tople the traditional power of chinese supremacy. (no matter how many thousands of chinese pupils were dead because of the recent earthquake, where schools buildings were  of unquality building standards) .    In Malaysia, no chinese will belittle their chinese culture and relegion that are regarded as their chinese supremacy. chinese leaders have consistentyly controlling their stakes. )

zaid is actually one very good example of a malay who have risen up because of his merit and credentials. and not because of he is a malay. the malays saw him as capable, thus he had won places in UMNO and also he has been one of those successful lawyers. thus the malays are fair in their judgment, in appointing capable malays like him; otherwise zaid may not be in the picture of malaysian politics.

UMNO leaders have consistently remainded malays to improve themselves in all field without belittle on malay supremacy. zaid has to be more careful with his words.

The only thing that I can say to people like you, unfortunately will put me under ISA. Anyway, it's great to read your blog becoz it has just made me so much more determined to bring BN down in the next general election. And guess what? I'm going to revamp my company's finances to see if I can channel a portion of the income to be donated to the Opposition's campaign in the next General Election. Thank you so much for making me so much more determined to end BN's rule of this country.
I'm afraid you contradict yourself. You say, I quote

"one very good example of a malay who have risen up because of his merit and credentials. and not because of he is a malay. the malays saw him as capable, thus he had won places in UMNO"

Would the Malays have seen him as capable and allowed him to rise if he wasn't Malay?
Would he be with UMNO if he wasn't Malay?

Your argument is surreal.
I just want to address the bit about the Americans. Please refrain from making generalities / stereotypical statements about the Americans. Even if you are one, you do not speak for them. And no, they are not of the same religion.
What load of poppycock is this fella talking about. People like you who always feel insecure and afraid of dominance from other capable and diligent people will always hide behind the pretext of "Malay supremacy". It is a crutch for the weak and it was a lame excuse used by the forefathers to blame the British of economical segregation. What load of rubbish...
How many Ministries' Secretary Generals and Govt. Depart. heads are non Bumis? I doubt it is more than 10%. Whites in the US worship white supremacy? I have my doubts. It is definitely not supported openly by the majority of the whites. Han Chinese constitute about 92% of China's population. You never hear them shouting for Han supremacy in China.
I guess you are one of the few who have benefited from the malay supremacy policy and not suprised at all you are so much against a person like Zaid. I guess you have no regret seeing your very own people suffering and after 50 years still lagging behind other races who are oppressed in this country.
I'm not only talking about the malays who have not benefited but also other native bumiputeras are being neglected for promoting the
malay supremacy.
So, mind you... while a person like Zaid talk about where the mistake was done and to look forward for better future, you are still stucked with your big head.

“Similarly to China. In China, no Chinese citizens will come out in great number to topple the traditional power of Chinese supremacy. (no matter how many thousands of Chinese pupils were dead because of the recent earthquake, where schools buildings were of unquality building standards) …” by maam123

Thank God, reading your article from the first until the last word, this is what I am looking for. All these sentences just show the world about your blindness and silliness on these issues. I wonder did you ever been to china (I mean right after the earthquake)? Or “trying” to read Chinese news paper? I’m just curious that if you ever “touch” nor read the newspaper.

(Next time please do your “homework” before you trying to impress people with your “great speeches”.)

People in Chinese did huge reflections on this issue. There’s tons of high level authorities has been “removed” and prosecuted. By the way, the nature of politic in China is totally different with Malaysia. People in china have been working so hard to gain their position in the world today. They built up their country by their people itself. Not alike Malaysia, there’s different races of people fight and working to get the independent of this nation. The constitutions of this country were the agreement made by our ancestor. When there’s rules and regulation which inappropriate for new generations, amendment is needed.

If you keep harbouring those thoughts and blaming people for trying to “invade” your “supremacy”, then how could you expect all the other races in Malaysia to call ourselves as “Malaysian”, whilst you still stick with your “Tanah Melayu”? You will lose out man, stop being an OSTRICH!

Blindness and silliness can blind one’s conscience. "They know that, in their activity, they are following an illusion, but still, they are doing it" by Slavoj Zizek. Everyone knows the good side of vision raised by Zaid. It just some selfish people without foresight choose to be blindfold and rather to speculate his “Motives” on this issue than make self-examination.

As far as I can remember, Zaid made the statement saying that the concept of Malay supremacy was conterproductive as it distracts too much attention, time and resource away from more important issues like national unity.

However, after making that statement, it seems like MORE people are talking and discussing about Malay supremacy rather than national unity itself. In other word, Zaid's statement did not change anything, in fact it only made things worse.

I guess some things will never change.
Everyone agrees that 'ketuanan Melayu' = 'Malay supremacy' (in English, right?). However, nobody really see the wording similarities between 'Malay supremacy' to 'Aryan supremacy'. Are we going down the same road that Hitler and his people had been? Needless to say that road had literally destroyed Germany and had split the country into two for a few decades. Is this how we want to end up?
.(I bet obama can never win)
Mark this words. Only a racist by nature will comment on colors on who run a country.

Come on, America been through more than Malaysia. Do you know how many white american lives killed, for ending Slavery in America. The numbers run more than 100thousands people. The battle at Gettysburg US, goes in to history as the bloodiest battel.

Look at people like JFK and Martin Luther , gave away their live for equality in America.

In America African-Amercian were given scholarship, priority in jobs like police and army. They are to help the minorities.

What about us, is minorities is regarded as Malaysian or Penumpang?
Syed Hamid Albar quoted that Zaid was lucky to be born a Malay, meaning all of us Chinese, Indians etc are very unlucky!! How true indeed. This I see a downfall for the BN government in the next coming election.
Why are you contradicting yourself?

One moment you are writing "who is zaid anyway? he is no body"

Then later you write it yourself "zaid is actually one very good example of a malay who have risen up because of his merit and credentials."

You are not a trustworthy person.
maam123 -(I bet obama can never win)

The quote above enough to prove a new racist has risen up. And Obama now really did won the election.

Those "people" who against Zaid are coward, as they are too afraid to lose.
In your blog, you bet that Obama could never win. Now that Obama has won, please come out to give some comments. Don't be a coward!
Zaid is a wise man.

Anyone who conducts his/her life against the laws of nature, will run into troubles sooner or later until he/she learnt. The same applies to any company, government and country. Just wait and see.

OUCH! that hurts
To my fellow malaysians..

As owner of company, how many chinese and malays do you hire? what are the posts and reasons for hiring ?

Which race do you feel most comfortable with as your workers ?

Who holds the finance department, are they malays, chinese or indians ?

If you have kids, do you trust a other race friend or neighbour to take care of them for a week if you were outstation ?

Can you accept the kids to change thier religion when they grow 18 and not to outcast them? Islam for sure prohibits that strictly.

Do you accept your daughters have other race boyfriend ?

Will you be as zaid who can accept chinese step mother ? or the other way round..

How many other race buddies compared to own race ?

Do you join associations or clubs meant for other race ?

Can you single handedly (alone) lead other race ?

Will you learn about other people religion and cultures in depth to understand other races besides your own ?

You have only one ringgit inside your pocket, both friends at same time in need of that one ringgit direly, one from your own race and another from other race ? who will you give this one ringgit ?

If you can change yourself than only you can others..because others will see an example in you..

Constitutions can be amended, and it has been amended before. the question we have to ask ourselves is this, "Is the constitution as it is good for the country as a whole or for a handful of people?"

If is for a handful of people, amend it, then we can see real progress in the country.

Would flogging a dead horse get you anywhere?

Would you keep a broken down car to get you places?

Would you keep eating melamine contaminated milk products?

I am holding my breath on the last three questions because I know even a child will not continue doing it.

But I am not going to hold my breath about the constitution though I am praying hard that malaysians can be objective and rational. if they WANT to be.
He could have made his point without disgracing the Malay people. In fact, he should never disgrace anyone in public. That's very poor interpersonal communication skills, especially for someone who intends to come across to the general public as a race-neutral politician.
