Career
Whether during financial difficulties, world economic slowdown or during booming times, we can find unscrupulous Employer and smelly HR every where. Smelly because they don't have their own brain and wit. Smelly becaues they follow suit the ultimate superior, the Employee, regardless of whether it is right or wrong. Smelly because at the end of the day, if Employer falls onto a pool of crap, they do too.
As an Employee, all you want is to perform your daily work and in return for remuneration. As an Employer, many fails to recognise that without these Employees, they are not able to build an Empire.
I don't know about you but i have met this people first time in my entire career life.
I left my comfort zone working along with my own peers for 7 years when this people approached me asking me to join them. The promise - I'll be confirmed after 6 months and a pay increment at a figure stated clearly in the letter.
Along the way I was asked to sign up for company secretarial course. I was asked to find an assistant to assist me. They are using all the sales and collection processors. They uses all the commercial agreements, templates, so on and so forth until now.
At the end of 6th month, they kept quiet.
At the end of 9 month, after asking, without just reason they asked me to tender my resignation. I asked for termination but they refused to do it.
On the 11th month, they came up with a plan, a performance improvement plan. A plan that has nothing to do about improving my performance, nor anything to do with my 2008 review.
Early on the 12th month, a family member joined as Head of Corp Affairs, someone who announced herself to oversee my department although much later she retracted that statement to me, personally and privately.
At the end of 12th month, task were completed. It was also the same time they gave me a letter - without just reason and justification. I was asked to leave immediately in the afternoon.
Will you work for a company where you have no security? The name of the company will not be revealed at the moment but watch out for some telecommunication,IT company. Dont be fooled by the way they talk you in.
Here is what happened last Thursday, you decide and tell me what you think.
1. to draft S&P AGreement and Lease Agreement
(I was made to draft this even though an internal lawyer is not suppose to do it, besides the parties involved are not the same party they want to sell the Land to, so basically I am drafting for the sake of making them happy, thirdly, our external lawyer was surprised about this and told me he won't waste his time looking because the Land is in the midst of selling to a third party.
But i did and finished in time.
Their comment

Tell me, what do you think of such review and the dismissal. If i lie in every single word, this is going to be defamatory. So, who wants to know which company is this and who wants to know their faces? I doubt it will be posted here but would love to know how many would want to find out
It was my friend's parents' trading company. My friend, who is also working in this company, told me that they needed a clerk, so I tried to make a deal with him that I be his clerk, while he answer to my lecturer-in-charge of supervising me that it's an internship position. Simple, right?
At first, he told me that they need me to work until the end of September, which lasts 18 weeks. He again told me that the salary is just RM800, but since I didn't have much choice, and I understood that they're helping me to fulfill my practical requirements, I took up the offer but I managed to negotiate to shorten the contract to end of August. It was confirmed in 1st April because my university required me to confirm by then. Any change later will result in disqualification.
By May, my friend told me that my manager-to-be found out that internship positions are only worth a salary of RM500. They decided to pay me RM450 in the end.
My question is,
no doubt the salary for internship positions are commonly ranged between 0-500, but that is because actual training, courses, seminars and so on are provided, right?
I believe I deserve a clerk's salary.
Opinions please?
Malaysia being a country rich in natural resources and blessed with plenty of land - there is definitely a solution for all unemployment.
Why don't we encourage our graduates and those unemployed to go into modern farming. The ministry of agriculture can allocate in every state certain land for this new job creation purpose. They can also provide the good seeds for them to grow and tend to their farm and the harvest can then be collected and sold each month to pay for their salary. Imagine this we are greening our earth and creating a sustainable economy that does not rely on foreign FDIs. Instead the young graduates can grow fruits, flowers and vegetables which can be easily sold locally in the market.
If saddened me , when i see so many young unemployed graduates sitting around doing nothing our loitering around at the mall. The current situation call for ideas by the people for the people. The tough times and adversity can only bring out better potential in each individual.
We want our young people to strengthen their mind and have positive thoughts to go through a weak economic slow down.
Lets give the fresh graduates a new hope with a new job in hand .
Most local universities are having their convocation on August, while few on October. These are the times where fresh graduates are on the loose! Although Malaysia is at an economy downturn, there are still jobs for entry level.
Fresh graduates probably have a common question. Whether it is to work in KL, where there are more opportunities, or in their hometown (if they're not from KL) with lower pay but involves lower living costs and crime rate as well.
I am graduating on October and I'm into advertising/marketing BUT not sales. I'm currently working in a small trading company in Penang (which is also my hometown) just to fulfill practical requirements from university. I'm thinking, "Would October graduates miss out on more opportunities to the August graduates?" and "Is it better to work in KL or Penang, given that I am prepared for work pressures?" Can anyone please enlighten me?
